Erving is a small town along Route 2 and the Millers River, split between the village of Ervingside and the more rural areas climbing the hills to the north. The population is small, but the HVAC needs are real.

Ervingside has older, denser housing near the former paper mill. The rest of town is spread out along country roads with homes that range from vintage capes to modern builds. Oil and propane heat nearly everything here.
